At Servant Solutions, we understand that ministry leaders spend much of their lives helping others prepare for the future. You counsel families through difficult seasons, provide wisdom during times of uncertainty, and faithfully care for the people God has entrusted to you. Yet many servants of the Church unintentionally delay one of the most important ways they can care for their own families: basic estate planning.
We understand how easy it is to put personal planning on the back burner. Your days are filled with meetings, counseling, teaching, and serving your community. But taking a few intentional steps now can provide tremendous peace of mind for you and your loved ones both now and later.
Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 27:23, “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.” While written in an agricultural context, the principle still applies today: wise stewardship includes preparing well for the future and caring responsibly for what God has entrusted to us.
That includes protecting your family, your wishes, and your estate through basic legal documents.
One of the ways Servant Solutions seeks to fulfill our mission of “Serving Those Who Serve” is by providing free access to DIY Family Legal Documents for our members and their spouses through a trusted legal partner, ARAG via Principal. These resources can help you create important documents such as wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and other foundational estate planning tools—all at no additional cost.
One practical way my wife and I have personally benefited from these resources is through the Medical Treatment Authorization for Minors form. Whenever we travel and leave our children with trusted friends or family members, we complete this document ahead of time so they would have the ability to make medical decisions in the event of an emergency. Thankfully, we’ve never had to use it, but simply knowing there was a clear plan in place gave us tremendous peace of mind while we were away. It’s a small step that can make a significant difference for families who want to prepare wisely and care well for those they love.
Many people delay estate planning because they assume it will be expensive, time-consuming, or complicated. But having these foundational documents in place can help your family avoid unnecessary stress and confusion during difficult moments. It also gives you the opportunity to clearly communicate your wishes and steward your resources intentionally.
As ministry leaders, you spend your lives encouraging others to plan wisely, live faithfully, and care for those they love. Taking advantage of these free family legal documents is one more way you can lead by example.
At Servant Solutions, we are honored to walk alongside you—not only in retirement planning, but in helping improve the financial security and preparedness of those who faithfully serve the Church and Kingdom.
